Lately...

I noticed I haven't done a February 'Lately' post. So, I'd better do one before the month ends! Here is what I've been up to lately...

listening to... My son learn his Spanish numbers faster than English. It is the cutest to hear him and his dad reading stories at the end of the night. I love my boys.

watching... LD and I just started House of Cards. I'm totally into these political drama's. I find it all fascinating. I'm also watching Suits. I love me some of that Harvey! Yum. I'm a huge fan of Blue Bloods and I'm enjoying Season 3. While I was sick last week I was hooked on North & South {with hottie Richard Armitage!}. Like, I watched that 4 hr film more than 5 times.

eating... Tonight is Taco Tuesday! Last night LD made Arepa, a traditional dish in Venezuela. Which is a flat, round, unleavened patty made of cornmeal. Then fried and stuffed with all manner of goodies. LD put eggs, tomato, peppers, onion and cheese in ours. It is a perfect Sunday late evening meal/snack and my husband is a great cook.

reading... I just started reading this blog. She and her husband are expats in Amersterdam. They live a much more glamorous life than I do.

wearing... The last few days I have been able to go out just wearing a thick sweater. I love it! It got up to 48 degree's Fahrenheit yesterday!

feeling... So tired. I've had a bad cold for almost 3 weeks now. I'm at the tail end of it now but it lingers. I've not slept well in a few weeks and I'm dying for a good nights sleep. I'll be in bed by 9pm tonight!

wanting... A best friend in Scotland. Five years and I still don't have one.

thinking... about my 5 yr anniversaries coming up soon. 5 years married to LD and 5 yrs living in Scotland. Time flies!

needing... Warmer weather. Can I get a holla! I'm really getting tired of winter. I'm ready to move on to a better time.

enjoying... The sunshine that we are finally having in Scotland! Sebastian and I went on a little bike ride this morning and to the park the last few days. We will soak up all the sun we can get!

What have you been up to lately?

  1. I can't be your best friend (simply due to distance, I am up north!) but I'd like to be your blog friend and thus help a little with the wanting. Not in a creepy way. In a COMPLETELY NON CREEPY WAY let's be internet friends.

    Um.

Yeah. So let me start that again. I happened upon your blog a few weeks ago and just wanted to say hi! You are fabulous! I am Scottish and agree with everything you say about the weather! We must have a thousand different words for raining here.

    1. Mia, you're a creepster.

Just kidding! Let's be internet friends. I laughed out loud when you said, "we have 1000 different words for rain." Hahaha! You've given me a post idea.

  2. Funny- I just wrote on my blog the other day just how friendless I am. Haven't had a girlfriend in 10 years. I need a best friend too besides my hubby!

    1. I keep telling LD that I wish I could be happy with just him for a friend, but seriously...he's not enough! I need some girl time!

I have friends here. I do. Just not "good" friends. The ones that you tell all your business too and everyone calls and texts weekly. It just doesn't happen. They do it to each other , but not to me. That's OK. But, I'd be lying if I said I didn't want a special friend just for me.

  3. The weather the past two days was heaavenly. I even had my sleeve rolled up at one point it was so warm. But alas, today is back to misting and 34 degrees. Bleh.
If you're ever up near Aberdeen, give me a call. I'd be happy to spend some girl time with you:)

  4. Mmmmm... I LOVE Arepas! I lived in one house during Uni with three girls who served their missions in Venezuela. There were Arepas in the house at least once per week. Haven't had them since, but just thinking about them makes my mouth water. Yum.

I hope you can kick your cold soon. If not, try Acupuncture! I tell ya, my Acupuncturist is a freaking miracle worker. LOVE.

How can it possibly be five years? Seriously? How?

    I miss you girl!
